50+ Kids Snack Ideas

I’m pretty sure most toddlers and kids are the same in that they love ALL.THE.SNACKS. Cooper and Reese sure do and can go a little overboard especially when we are home a lot. I’m always trying to think of new options for snacks because they are both the type that get tired of the same things. I try to offer a decent amount of healthy options but also let them enjoy some of the fun stuff too. Everything in moderation is key for us. I was actually just having this chat with a few of my girlfriends and we started Read More

My Top Job Interview Tips

I originally put this post together a few years ago but with how badly Covid has affected our economy and so many people losing their jobs this year, I wanted to update it and share again to help those currently in the job market. A bit about my background if you aren’t familiar…..I worked in recruiting and hiring for 11 years before deciding to take some time off working to spend more time with my family. I started my career in 3rd party recruiting with an agency where I recruited for a variety of companies and positions across Charlotte. After Read More

Our Mini Kitchen Reno

We are officially done with our mini kitchen reno and we are so happy with how everything turned out! It is amazing how different the kitchen feels now and I just love how bright and airy it is. While we were in the process of making all of our selections I spent a ton of time on blogs and Pinterest looking for ideas and links so I wanted to share all of our information for anyone else that may be doing or considering something similar. You’ll see that I’ve linked all of our selections at the bottom of the post. Read More

Charlotte Holiday Activity Guide – 2020

Last year I put together a big Charlotte Holiday Activity Guide after getting overwhelmed trying to find information for myself online and I wanted to do that again this year since I received such positive feedback on how helpful it was. I’m also sure this year many people are curious if some activities are cancelled or being modified for safety so I’ve spent the time researching all of that to put in this comprehensive guide. The good news is that while a few events are cancelled, the majority are still taking place and should be very safe for your family Read More

Mom’s Brain Tumor Journey

Now that we are a few weeks past my moms surgery I wanted to share a little more information on the experience and how going through this taught me a lot about trusting in God and giving up control.   I hope by sharing more about this journey it will let others know that may be going through something hard that it’s okay to be scared but God is also so good and faithful.  Put your trust in him and he will hold your hand through it all.   I also found it very therapeutic to write down my feelings both during Read More

Homemade Popsicle Recipe

Cooper‘s favorite summer treat is definitely popsicles and he asks to eat one almost every afternoon. I thought it would be a fun activity for us to make them on our own together plus these could be a lot healthier with less sugar and no food dyes. They are really simple to do on your own – all you need are a few ingredients, a blender/mixer, and a popsicle mold kit. We used this one from Target that is actually on sale right now. We had so much fun making these together and he said he likes these better than Read More

My Favorite Easy and Family Friendly Recipes

If you’re like me then you are always looking for simple and family friendly recipes and even more so now that many of us are cooking more than ever with the Stay at Home orders.  Most days I don’t have much time to cook dinner so I prefer meals that I can prep ahead of time or are just easy to throw together.   If I pull up a recipe that has a long list of ingredients then I just move on……I likely don’t have time for that :). The meals I’m sharing today are my go-to’s that require minimal ingredients, Read More

If you’re like me then you’ve already started to think about the holiday season and what activities you want to do with your kids.   I started doing some research and got really overwhelmed by all of the information online.  There’s a lot of info out there but I couldn’t find one website that had things listed out in an easy to follow and comprehensive way.  Well, that is a big reason why I decided to put this list together of all the holiday activities taking place in Charlotte and I really hope it will make things easier for you in Read More

Reese’s Cranial Band Journey – Part 2

After 14 weeks in the helmet I am so excited to share that Reese has officially graduated!  It took a little longer than we were expecting with her head growing slowly but seeing her head look so much better makes it all worth it!  Ultimately I am so happy that we decided to get a helmet. The best part of sharing about our experience at the end of this journey is that I can confidently say it was soooo much easier than I expected.  If you go back and read Part 1, you can tell I was pretty anxious about Read More
